It is time again for all artists and aspiring artists in Lions Bay to create and submit a design for the banners that are displayed around our Village. For 2015 the theme is “Renewal”.
Deadline for submitting designs for the Renewal themed banners is March 20th. The winning design will be selected at the Arts Council AGM March 28th. A $500 honorarium will be awarded to the winning artist. Artwork needs to be of the same proportions as the final size 24″ X 60″, (vertical). Unfortunately images that are not proportionally correct cannot be considered, unless they can be suitably cropped. As an example: 12″x30″ or 6″x15″ would be an appropriate ration. Please avoid using pale colors as they do not display well.
We will have the artwork professionally photographed prior to production. We look forward to your images. We look forward to seeing your images. For questions please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Community members of all ages are invited to express themselves through painting a nature themed canvas under the guidance of our local professional artists. No previous experience or art background is necessary for this fun and easy community project.
The 12 by 16 inch vibrant canvases will then be photographed and used digitally to create Art in the Park, phase one of the Kelvin Grove Park Renewal project. A collage of the photos will be incorporated into a Community Garden Sign and integrated into physical pieces that will be part of the overall improvement to the structures at Kelvin Grove Park.
During ArtsScene 2012 and through the month of September the Public Art & Design Committee is seeking your input to the renewal of the park that will enhance the community use and instill pride on our park. A guided tour of the park and area to be renewed is planned for Saturday September 22nd, 9:30 a.m. Click here for more detailed information.
We hope you will join us at Lions Bay ArtsScene 2012 celebrating National Culture Days.
