Become a Friend or Patron of the Arts in Lions Bay
This is an exciting time for Lions Bay’s cultural community. With the creation of the Lions Bay Arts Council, we have an opportunity to showcase and integrate arts and culture into the fabric of our Village community.
While we are a newly formed organization, we have already had many successful events, including the 2010 Art and Garden Festival (done under the auspices of the Public Art and Design Taskforce (PADTF) , ArtScene 2010, the art show and sale held on Dec 12, 2010, ArtScene 2011 held in conjunction with National Culture Days, October 2, 2011, Arts and Garden Festival held May 27, 2012 and ArtScene 2012 again in conjunction with National Culture Days, held September 29, 2012.
We supported the Library Wall Mural Project, where kids and adults alike, under the direction of local artist, Sarah Berneburg, created painted tiles that assembled into a “tree collage” and mounted on the wall outside our Lions Bay Library. In 2012, we began the Kelvin Grove Park Renewal Project with a community art project “Art in the Park” as part of ArtScene 2012.
Our friends and patrons provide the Lions Bay Arts Council with the ability to produce community enriching programs and events. Friends and patrons play a vital role in recognizing the importance in supporting arts and culture to ensure a vibrant and healthy community.
